Is a car useful?	Optional. Shuttles and tour pickups cover almost everything, so plenty of visitors skip the car here. A car pays off if you want Río Celeste, El Castillo and quieter swimming holes on your own schedule.	Not required. Shuttles connect Monteverde with La Fortuna, San José and the Pacific coast, and most tours include pickup. If you do drive, higher clearance is welcome on the final approach.
